Disinfectant with bacteriostatic, bactericidal and, to a lesser extent, fungicidal and viricidal properties.
Its absorption and likeliness of passing into plasma through the skin is negligible.
Alcohol, as a topical antiseptic, is compatible with breastfeeding (WHO 2002).
When topically used as disinfectant, alcohol does not increase alcohol levels in breast milk (Han 2022) and is compatible with breastfeeding. (WHO 2002)
