Oxacillin. Oxacillin Sodium

Compatible

Safe product and/or breastfeeding is the best option.

It is an isoxazolylpenicillin used similarly to flucloxacillin for the treatment of staphylococcal infections resistant to benzylpenicillin. Oral, intramuscular or intravenous administration every 4 to 6 hours.

Like most penicillins, it is excreted in breast milk in clinically insignificant amounts. (Zhang 1997, Peiker 1986, Matsuda 1984, Kulakov 1981)

Small concentrations of oxacillin have been detected in urine of newborns breastfed by mothers treated with this antibiotic. (Peiker 1986)

Medication for pediatric use, even in newborns.

Although rare, it is necessary to take into account the possibility of transient gastroenteritis due to alteration of the intestinal flora in infants whose mothers take antibiotics.

Suggestions made at e-lactancia are done by APILAM team of health professionals, and are based on updated scientific publications. It is not intended to replace the relationship you have with your doctor but to compound it. The pharmaceutical industry contraindicates breastfeeding, mistakenly and without scientific reasons, in most of the drug data sheets.
