Флуорометолон

Compatible

Safe product and/or breastfeeding is the best option.

Glucocorticoid medication with topical opthalmic or dermatological use and with anti-inflammatory action, used in the form of 0.1% drops or ophthalmic ointment, or dermatological cream.
Indicated in cutaneous inflammation of the conjunctiva, the cornea and the anterior segment of the eye.

Since the last update we have not found published data on its excretion in breastmilk.

The small dose and low plasma absorption of most topical ophthalmological or dermatological preparations make it unlikely that significant amounts will transfer into breastmilk and for this reason it is considered to be compatible with breastfeeding (Briggs 2017).

In ophthalmic applications, it is possible to further decrease its absorption by pressing on the tear duct in the inner corner of the eye for 1 minute (IQB 2014).

Alternatives

We do not have alternatives for Флуорометолон since it is relatively safe.

Suggestions made at e-lactancia are done by APILAM team of health professionals, and are based on updated scientific publications. It is not intended to replace the relationship you have with your doctor but to compound it. The pharmaceutical industry contraindicates breastfeeding, mistakenly and without scientific reasons, in most of the drug data sheets.
