Suggestions made at e-lactancia are done by APILAM team of health professionals, and are based on updated scientific publications. It is not intended to replace the relationship you have with your doctor but to compound it. The pharmaceutical industry contraindicates breastfeeding, mistakenly and without scientific reasons, in most of the drug data sheets.
Your contribution is essential for this service to continue to exist. We need the generosity of people like you who believe in the benefits of breastfeeding.
Thank you for helping to protect and promote breastfeeding.

It is a type of low-dose x-ray that measures the calcium and other minerals in the bones to calculate their strength and density. It is used to diagnose osteopenia, osteoporosis, predict the risk of future fractures, and monitor osteoporosis treatment. (Radiologyinfo 2022, Medline Plus 2021)
Bone densitometry uses very low doses of radiation, be it x-rays, ultrasound, or radioactive isotopes such as Gadolinium 153, which pass through the body like an X-ray. It is a non-invasive technique.
The emitted radiation does not affect milk or lactation (HSE 2015), does not remain in the body, is not excreted in milk, and does not alter prolactin levels.
There is no need to wait any time to breastfeed after the scan.
