Aluminum acetate or acetotartrate has astringent and skin irritation soothing properties. It is used in the form of otic drops in otitis externa and in the form of creams or lotions (Burow's solution) in skin irritations.
At the time of the last update, we found no published data on its excretion in breast milk.
The small dose and/or poor absorption of most topical otic and dermatological preparations make it unlikely that significant amounts will pass into blood plasma and even less into breast milk.
