Υδροξυχλωροκίνη θειϊκή

Riesgo muy bajo

Seguro. Compatible. Mínimo riesgo para la lactancia y el lactante.

Antipalúdico usado como antiinflamatorio y agente inmunológico en colagenosis como la artritis o el lupus sistémico o discoide, la artritis reumatoide, la porfiria cutánea tarda, la sarcoidosis y otras enfermedades cutáneas. Se utiliza también en la profilaxis del tromboembolismo venoso.
Se ha ensayado su eficacia en el tratamiento de la COVID-19 (Elavarasi 2020, SEFH 2020).
Administración oral

Se excreta en leche materna en cantidad clínicamente no significativa, muy inferior a la dosis utilizada en lactantes (Peng 2019, Liu 2016, Cissoko 2010, Costedoat 2002, Ostensen 1985, Nation 1984).
No se han observado problemas clínicos ni de desarrollo ni de visión o audición en lactantes cuyas madres la tomaban (Peng 2019, Motta 2005 y 2002, Cimaz 2004, Tincani 2001).

Cuando la madre toma 400 mg al día aparece 1 mg en cada litro de leche, cantidad que no sería peligrosa para el lactante, pues la dosis preventiva para paludismo en lactantes es 5 mg por kilo de peso a la semana.

Diversas sociedades médicas, expertos y consensos de expertos consideran compatible el uso de esta medicación durante la lactancia (Hale, Sammaritano 2020, Briggs 2017, Flint 2016, Götestam 2016, Kavanaugh 2015, Schaefer 2015).

Academia Americana de Pediatría: medicación usualmente compatible con la lactancia (AAP 2001).
